A child must read one thousand books before he turns five, was the slogan that I was reading with widely opened eyes, wondering that how it is possible and what is philosophy behind it. I was comparing with my native lands where a large number of children are introduced with books after the age of 3 or five when they enter school. I was asking myself is that the reason we as nation are behind.
It was December 2024 and I was visiting my sister for winter vacations. As I was on leave and spending my holidays leisurely, the only worrisome thing was non availability of any learning activity of my than five years old kid. After a while, one of my friends recommended me to join public library. I took my kid cedar falls public library (https://cedarfallslibrary.org/). There I was intrigued by the full section of children books, reference materials, toys section and computer labs. The most attractive thing for me was weakly “reading sessions for children” from new born to fifteen years old. To my surprise, people were bringing their children and there were volunteer and assigned readers for each session.
The joy, astonishment, excitement and light in the eyes of these little humans was actual motivator and reward for the reader (in my opinion). And this actually motivated me to start a story telling club for little munchickens upon my arrival back to my hometown. I was trying to find books from local authors, in native language for children, though there are certain options available, however, it never seemed sufficient.
I was teaching the course of Entrepreneurship lab and we were discussing about possible class projects, when suddenly the event flashed in my mind and hurray…. We mutually decided to write children literature.
The teachers must write the books, because they have very close relations with content, they know appropriate selection of words, they are the story tellers and have all the abilities to transfer complex ideas into simplest form without losing the essence of learning. The prospective teachers should learn to write books, so they get to know about their own learning and can practice the process of transferring ideas into concepts.
The teachers owe the responsibility to manage individual differences in the class, they are first hand observers of these differences and key point of contact with students, writing enable them to prepare the content to address diverse need of students.
The teachers are story tellers by default of their profession, so this innate talent of this profession can be used for better learning.
I assigned my students to design story books for children, while looking for guidelines and evaluation criteria, I found few useful resources that I am sharing here.
Happy writing!!!

Technology isn’t a different source of education system rather it may be defines formal, informal or non formal education. It provides vast amount of knowledge within seconds.we don’t need to carry books but still is used in formal education so this is important
